Many provisions of Policies & Procedures apply to students as members of the MIT community, including those in this Section 9, Relationships and Responsibilities Within the MIT Community. Some additional policies specific to students are set forth below.
Each student is responsible for reading and being familiar with the Institute’s expectations which are documented in the Mind and Hand Book and the Academic Integrity Handbook. The Institute will not levy fees or charges of any kind when allowing students to make up missed work. In addition, students will suffer no adverse or prejudicial effects because they have made use of these provisions.
No faculty member or other academic instructor may charge a fee for tutoring students in any subject. Graduate students who hold teaching assistantships may not charge a fee for tutoring in any subject for which they give classroom or laboratory instruction.
