8.4 Official Union Membership Elections

Union elections may be conducted on Institute property if rooms are properly arranged for and authorized by management in advance and if the elections are conducted in an orderly manner. Voting may not be conducted during normal working hours, but may be conducted before or after work and during the normal lunch period.

Employees running for union office must not conduct their campaign on Institute time or interfere with the performance of other employees during their normal working hours. Employees running for office may not use the bulletin boards or post election material on the walls or in other locations throughout the Institute. All visits to work areas or sites must be restricted to before or after work and the normal lunch period.
